Did the collar get wet or dirty? Wipe it down briefly with a dry or slightly damp cloth. This prevents dirt from soaking into the leather.
Let the leather dry naturally
Is the collar really wet? Let it air-dry. Don't place it on a radiator and don't use a hairdryer. Drying too fast makes leather hard and can cause small cracks.
Condition it now and then
To keep the leather supple and strong, it's good to treat the collar with a leather conditioner or balm every so often.
